Services

Product developers and entrepreneurs face some important challenges when creating and commercializing innovative products for learners with special needs.  As an entrepreneur, how do you provide a research basis to demonstrate the effectiveness of a new offering?  As a product developer or researcher, where do you find business partners to compliment your assistive technology expertise?

NCTI offers services to bring together the expertise of researchers and product developers with the commercial experience of businesses, or the strengths of private sector organizations with those of govenment and nonprofit entities.  The following services are available free of charge to researchers, developers and vendors:

  • The Trends & Topics page offers a self-service source for information on technical topics like assistive technology, accessibility and disabilities; business challenges related to collaboration, legal concerns and commercialization; and implementation issues in education.
  • NCTI sponsors an annual collaborative research competition, Tech in the Works, which generates quick turnaround research on emerging technologies for students with disabilities. Vendors and researchers work together to solve development and implementation challenges.
  • Yellow Pages is a directory of people, federally funded projects, funders and vendors who may be resources or even partners in your work.
  • Brokered partnership opportunities to help you identify strategic partners who can help bring innovative technology products to market.
